The intricate process begins with an internal framework that supports external molding details, typically requiring at least ten separate pieces to achieve a complete design. While traditional methods yield beautiful results, they involve considerable time, labor, and cost. Mouldex Mouldings offers an innovative solution that simplifies the coffered ceiling construction without compromising on aesthetic quality—our one-piece ceiling beams.

Our one-piece ceiling beams present numerous advantages for constructing coffered ceilings. The foremost benefit is the significant reduction in materials and labor required, which in turn, reduces the overall project time and costs. These beams are crafted as single, seamless units, eliminating the need for multiple fittings and assemblies that traditional beams require. This streamlined approach not only speeds up the installation process but also enhances the structural integrity and visual consistency of the ceiling.

Mouldex offers a wide range of design options to cater to various architectural styles, from sleek modern looks to more elaborate classic designs. Our selection includes flat box beams as well as detailed profiles, each available in various sizes to suit different spaces and preferences. Additionally, most of our coffered ceiling layouts incorporate a perimeter beam that surrounds the room’s edges and a full beam used in the interior portion, with the perimeter beams typically half the depth of the complete profiles for a balanced aesthetic.

THIS IS HOW WE DO IT

STAGE 1 - DENSE EPS FOAMCORE
As in our exterior process except we use a higher density foam. Great rigidity yet still very flexible.

STAGE 2 - OPTIONAL FIBER MESH
Mesh is optional and typically applied for non-residential applications. 

STAGE 3 - WHITE CEMENT
Our exclusive white cement application is the foundation of our interior product line. It's a tough coat, protecting the foam underneath yet smooth enough to accept the next layer.

STAGE 4 - AUTHENTIC PLASTER
After a 24 hour cure period, we can begin to apply our final two coats of an authentic plaster finish. Our trade secrets make them extremely fine to the eyes and very smooth to touch.
